When is the data updated, and where does it come from?
Scores are recalculated several times every business day, after the closes, from public sources including Yahoo Finance. The times below are read from our calculation log, not typed by hand.
Alphaviu is not a real-time feed. Scores are calculated on finished sessions, several times every business day, as the markets close.
Where the data comes from
- Prices and fundamental data come from Yahoo Finance.
- News comes from the public news feeds of the tracked stocks; its tone only affects the score of stocks already in the top bands.
- Economic series (rates, inflation, employment) come from the public FRED database of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
When it is updated
Here are the usual start times of the calculations, read from our log over the last thirty days, and the latest scored session for each market:
| Calculation | Usual start times (Paris) |
|---|---|
| Score calculation (Europe, Japan, crypto, commodities) | 09:00 · 15:30 |
| Score calculation for US stocks | 22:00 |
| Markets | Latest scored session |
|---|---|
| Commodities | 3 Nov 2026 |
| Cryptocurrencies | 2 Nov 2026 |
| Europe | 2 Nov 2026 |
| Japan | 2 Nov 2026 |
| United States | 3 Nov 2026 |
These tables recalculate every time this page is displayed. A time that does not appear for lack of enough runs is not guessed.
What the measurement does not say
- What happens during the session. A session in progress never enters the score: a score read at 11 a.m. is based on the latest close.
- That a source is never wrong. A price can arrive wrong or late. Checks verify every day the share of stocks whose price has arrived, but no check catches everything.
- Public holidays. They are not modelled: a Monday holiday counts as a business day, and a score can look a day late without being so.
