How do I import my portfolio (CSV or screenshot)?
Drop your broker's statement as it is: the site recognises the columns, shows you every line before creating it, and you fix what needs fixing. Nothing is saved without your confirmation.
Typing your positions in by hand is slow and error-prone. The portfolio offers four ways to import them, and none saves anything before you have reviewed it.
What the site does
- Smart import. Drop your broker's CSV or Excel file as it is. The columns are recognised automatically. The minimum: the symbol (or ISIN) and the quantity. Date and currency are optional, as are the name, the fees and the dividends received.
- PDF statement. Most statements contain text, which is read on our European servers without leaving them. A scanned statement (an image) can be read by our analysis provider, but only if you ask for it with a click.
- Screenshot. A screenshot of your broker account is read by our analysis provider. The cost in credits is shown before sending.
- CSV template. Download the template, fill it in, drop it.
In every case, each line is shown before it is created: you fix a cell, remove a line, then confirm.
What the import does not do
- Connect to your broker. The site only reads the file or image you give it. It receives no banking credentials.
- Guess an unknown transaction. A line whose type (buy, sell) is not recognised is flagged to you, rather than filed at random on one side or the other.
- Guarantee a perfect reading. A blurry screenshot or an unusual statement can be misread. The review before confirming is there for that.
